Being totaly aware/awake is certainly a very important aim in the spiritual development. And certainly there are several ways and techniques to reach this. Beside this higher consciousness there are many other possible aims which could be reached.

Most people are truly in a kind of dreaming state although they think of themselves as awake. They are dreaming their lives down here in the material world. But once there comes a time when everyone awakes to true life.

1. How can I be sure that this kind of experience are not a dream ? Which category was it ?
The whole topic is probably not easy to understand as it deals with higher laws of nature and other planes of life/existence and last but not least it depends on scientific, empiric – practical experiments,- own experiences. When you do higher meditations especially those which focus on the air element wayu and the heart chakra then out-of-body experiences and travels come as side effects.

Such experiences are also „normal“ for states of physical weakness, desease, death-like experiences and so on.

There are also several people who are born with these abilities as relicts from earlier incarnations and spiritual training/initiation.
